We said “I do”

We have been home for only a week from our Gulf of Mexico crossing moving Sound of Silence. We take more time away from sailing on Nepenthe but this time for a much more pleasurable cruise- to get married. When thinking about where to get married, of course we wanted to get married on a boat. We got engaged in April and purchased Nepenthe in July so the planning process was prior to us owning Nepenthe. I thought about renting a sail boat or having it aboard a rented catamaran. The problem with those plans or that thought process was it would be limiting the number of people that we could have present for the ceremony and then the planning that would have to go into a reception on land following. So the next logical thing was to get married on a cruise ship. So that is exactly what we did on October 25th, 2015.

We were so very pleasantly surprised that we had 20 guest join us for the festivities. The cruise was a blast. It was a lot of fun being surrounded by friends and family and running into another familiar face around every corner. The port of calls were Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Maybe someday Nepenthe will get to go to those places.

We disembarked from the cruise on a Thursday. Brian’s parents were going to stay and visit with us in Florida for a few days before heading back up North. On our way home from Fort Lauderdale after the cruise we stopped by Fort Pierce with mom and dad and took them out for a little spin.
